Spring Song

Something for the weekend.  Spring Song by Felix Mendelssohn.  Everyone has heard it, though few could name it and the composer.

Reminds me of the “Golden Age” kid’s cartoons, mostly made in the 1940s and 50s, and most of which relied upon classical music as soundtracks, supplemented by some additional compositions by the same crew who wrote movie scores for the big studios. I would bet that most in our age bracket learned this and a dozen or two other well known melodies from those cartoons we watched on TV or saw as part of our Saturday movie matinees.

This is such a classic. Last saw it maybe 45 years ago.
My Dad, a Juilliard-trained baritone, loved this one, especially. Thanks!
