Saint of the Day Quote: Blessed John Saziari

Blessed Giovanni Saziari was an Italian Roman Catholic farmer from the province of Pesaro and Urbino and a recognized member of the secular Franciscan order. Saziari was noted in his life for his healing gifts and was known for remaining unmarried and childless, although married.

Beatification Saziaris received confirmation from Pope John Paul II on 9 December 1980, after his cult, or the popularity and devotion has been approved. His feast is set each April 21 – the date of his death – and he is the patron Saint of both Franciscan tertiaries, and farmers.
