Just a reminder, in case you needed one, that ‘Black Lives Matter’ actually means ‘black impunity’. (So many segments of our professional-managerial class are so awful it’s hard to know which is worse – the educational apparat, the bar, the media – tough to say).
The irony is all segments of our managerial class view blacks as unequal and certainly not capable of responsibilities like the rest of us, and this racist attitude fills them self satisfaction.
The girls 13 and 15 are not being charged as adults, but I haven’t see anything else online dated later than March 28. The twitter feed is dated 4-5-21 from a British paper. Australian and British news sources often have more timely news than our American sources.

They killed someone in the course of a carjacking. Haven’t checked the DC penal code. In New York, they could be tried as adults. I think there’s a way around that with a ‘youthful offender’ adjudication. If it’s a murder charge, you can be treated as an adult defendant if you’ve passed your 13th birthday and that’s the default setting. Off the top of my head, I can think of a case less egregious than this one where the 13 year old offender got a public trial and was convicted in county court.
Instapundit says the plea deal is they’re free before they turn 21 and will not spend a minute in a correctional facility.
It’s OK. They’re poor, innocent victims of systemic racism and they each voted for Chinese Joe – six times.
The district may be different than other states. In my state children cannot be arrested but they can be taken into custody. Also if the info is true, not being put into prison may mean not going to an adult facilitly. These girls may be sent to juvenile detention which is residential. Wednesday is the day the acting police chief said they will be in court. Charges are felonly murder and armed hijacking so far. The chief also said the older teen may have participated in car hijackings before. Driving without a license is a minor charge the older teen may face.
In Virginia there was Lorton a prison for DC because DC only had a jail. Thankfully the old brick prison bldgs are now a center for the arts. I’m assuming the serious offenders are now sent to various federal prisons in many states.

‘Juvenile justice’ in DC is anything but. It’s a set of shizzy social work programs. In a sensible world, social work would be dismantled as an independent profession and the complex of make work programs like this eliminated.
