Something for the weekend. Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata performed by the incomparable Valentina Lisitsa. My son and I were taking our regular early morning stroll with our family dog Cali one day this week, and I noticed that the partial moon in the sky had taken on a bluish tinge. So that is the blue moon I’ve heard about!
Reminds me, I wanted to share this, as well:

While the third movement is my favorite, the second movement mystifies me a bit. It seems like it should be the easiest of the three to play. And I guess if you just want to hit the notes it is. But if you want to make it sound natural like in the video it takes a surprising amount of skill (or maybe it just hits me in an area I am weak).
RH: I agree, I find the second movement quite challenging in its way. The first is much easier for me.
I will keep trying to play the third movement with little success until I can’t sit at the piano any more. I view it as penance for pride.
