Careers are highly overrated, unless one really enjoys working 60-70+ hours a week, often at tedious tasks, away from home and family. The joys of family life are highly underrated. As the saying goes, no one wishes on their deathbed that they had spent more time at the office.
The past is so often portrayed as sexist, when it really was first and foremost a division of labor.
“Honey you stay home and take care of the kids, while I go work in the coal mine.”
