No, he was martyred in Nicomedia. Saint Zeno of Verona died in 371. The thirteenth century statue pictured above seems to conflate the two saints. Some accounts state that the Emperor was Diocletian’s co-Augustus Maximianus, and that the sacrifice was to Demeter.
