Thought for the Day

Cardinal Ratzinger had been one of the young experts at Vatican II.  It must have been painful for him to see what he helped create turn into something that many Catholics saw as a rejection of Catholicism prior to 1965.  But for his resignation as Pope, I think the wounds created in the wake of Vatican II would be on their way to being healed.  Instead we had Francis of cursed memory, and Pope Leo who often acts as if his purpose is simple to keep alive the destruction that Francis accomplished.  Angels weep and demons laugh.

“hermetic continuity” is what Ratzinger sought, but i doubt that’s possible without recognizing that bad choices were made.

All revolutionaries demand time begins with Year Zero. The hardcore Vatican II-stans are no different.

Ratzinger wasn’t the only Council Father to lament that the implementation of The Council™ was not in accord with the documents of the Council.

“It is clear that the church is facing a grave crisis. Under the name of ‘the new Church,’ ‘the post Conciliar Church’, a different Church from that of Jesus Christ is now trying to establish itself: an anthropocentric society threatened with immanentist apostasy which is allowing itself to be swept along in a movement of general abdication under the pretext of renewal, ecumenism, or adaptation.”

The battle was not fought, perhaps could not have been fought, in years of insanity following the council. It is now upon us.

Not peace but a sword.
Peace at all costs is too expensive after all.
Go along to get along is long past the sell by date.
The Emperor is naked, and needs to be told.

Spoiler: Christ wins.

Pope Benedict XVI did all he could and then he retired. Pope Benedict XVI said that the Latin Mass was not prohibited by Vatican II and so ought to be celebrated.
The wreckovators got rid of Truth and Tradition. The devil was given free reign; he swallowed Traditional Catholics faster than Nero blaming the Catholics for the burning of Rome. Street people were teaching the religion of free reign to children as renewal. Grounding in the foundation of the Church was not allowed.
The philosophy of Carl Rogers to do whatever you feel like combined with Vatican II destroyed all authentic authority. It cut people loose like space garbage leaving souls, oh yes, our souls were denied, our authentic civil rights were victims in the carnage brought about.
Now our very human lives are at stake through abortion, euthanasia and criminals not suspended by authority.
Are we, the people martyrs?
