Today is the final day of school. Final exams were largely successful. Year 22 in the classroom in the books. I still love teaching. God is good.
My hat is off to you Josh. Being a good teacher is hard. After I student taught at a Middle School in 1979 I ran off to law school as fast as my legs could carry me!
It’s good that you recognized that early on. I tell students who are contemplating the profession they have to figure out whether they love it; if they don’t, burn out comes quickly and furiously.
Of course, the (diocesan) powers that be throw all sorts of weird roadblocks and checkpoints in the way which, had I experienced them 20+ years ago, I would have quit after year 2 or 3.
