Lincoln was ever the realist. He understood that his reputation in his time and in History, relied upon which side won the Civil War. Historians have to guard against the strong temptation to decide that because History ultimately followed a certain path, that this course of History was inevitable.
Well into 1864, certainly into August of that year, Lincoln was presiding over a vast and bloody conflict that often seemed to be a losing one. The Union was making progress, but at a dreadful cost in lives. A lesser man would have bowed to the pressure and “Let the Erring Sisters go.” That Lincoln did not, is his true claim to greatness.
IMO, they want Trump, and by extension the US to fail. This is nothing more than a petty heckler’s veto.
These fools all know that their team isn’t actually capable of victory, either on the world stage or at home when you consider the manifest failures of leftist leadership on the Left Coast as a whole.
Heck, as far as I can tell most of them can’t even win an election on thier own. If not for the corrupt system they’ve built they wouldn’t win anything (looking at California and Washington in particular with thier statistically impossible voting turnouts that are somehow “completely above board”).
Interestingly the movie clip, Saving Lincoln, featured Jonathon Roumie from The Chosen as John Wilkes Booth and was directed by Salvador Litvak, now known as the Accidental Talmudist. He also wrote and directed Guns and Moses.
