I don’t know Don. That’s a pretty high bar. All the performative wailing and gnashing of teeth from all the same people that have been lying to us for at least 20 years is like the denials from a criminal who denies that they did it when caught even if there’s a video.
“What do you want us to do??” Just shut up and go away. Silently.
Alan Dershowitz recently offered that journalists were the most unethical bunch of people he’d dealt with.
Many journalist have earned the infamous Wormtongue Award. It’s in the same category as The Margaret Sanger award. Excellence in excrement.
We happened to catch an episode of 60 Minutes with her a couple years ago. The gist of it was that sometimes we need the government to step in and smack down dangerous speech. You could tell that was the point, because those academics and activists saying some speech should be banned or removed were given a microphone and allowed to talk away. Meanwhile, the one dissenting voice – Jim Jordan from here in the Buckeye State – was hardly ever able to just talk. When the segment went to him, as often as not, Stahl would narrate in voice-over her summary of the point Jordan was making rather than let him just do so. And often with editorials about his mannerisms, emotions and the like. Again, it was impossible not to see the bias, or the point being advanced (sometimes we need some good old government censorship).
