If he could, this modernist version of Torquemada would be burning traditionalist Catholics at the stake. Hyperbole, but not far from the truth.

If it is true that Bp. Michael Martin has “[refused] to respond to requests regarding liturgical matters” to the Congregation (now Dicastery) for Divine Worship, that is a big mis-step and blunder.
The Vatican congregations do not like being told to take a hike.
What if…
Lots of kneeling folks showed up at his next Mass, and the one after that…
Using the Eucharist as a protest is never appropriate (which unlike this family would be what that would be-) But kneeling in the pews and accepting spiritual communion only would be totally acceptable. We’re bound to accept physical communion but God is not.

I apologise. I am likely too hot. I have that American gift (and curse) low tolerance for bullies, mitred or otherwise.
I have no desire to turn the church into a spectacle. I am frustrated from decades of poor service from bishops, near and far.
There are only so many hours in a day and so it gets me mad when time is wasted on beating up the devout instead of addressing many, many other problems.
and if the people died without Jesus, who would go to hell?
