Rupnik is still free to move about Rome, which is a stain on LeoXIV.
Though he likely doesn’t think so.

There’s a noticeable push to immediately canonize Francis, skipping the doctrinal process of course, but also skipping prayers and Mass said for the repose of his soul.

Its purpose is obvious; to cement “the mess”. This isn’t helping the confused Catholic in the pew. Nor is it helping Francis, who may need our prayers.

With apologies to Potter Stewart, regardless of what the church says, I know a saint when I see one. Or don’t see one.

Canonizing the Argentinian would pretty well prove that the process has become totally useless and non-credible.

And I do pray for the repose of his soul every day, as is our holy duty.
