The idea of a United Nations was always dubious due to its implicit infringement on American sovereignty, but its history for the past eighty years has demonstrated that it has become a tool for the enemies of the US. To Hell with it, and may Trump get them out of New York City before his term ends.

It would be interesting to learn how many crimes “Diplomatic Immunity” coved up for delegates and their families at the UN, given the quality of some of its members.

If you looked at the list of inter-governmental agencies, you might consider belonging to about three dozen. The United Nations General Assembly &c would not be among them. The only reason to stay at this point is to throw roadblocks in front of China’s mischief.

As for our foreign aid programs generally, they should bar in exceptional circumstances consist of hands-on service delivery, equipment delivery, or the issuance of credits to purchase equipment. Distributing cash should only be done for disaster relief or some emergency to respond to for reasons of state. And no agency qualifies for the cash unless they have boots on the ground. Giving a grant to Catholic Relief Services which then distributes it to client agencies should be verboten. No more money laundering.
The UN has constantly pushed a coercive pro-abortion agenda throughout the world, especially the third world. We shouldn’t give a penny, and no Pope should praise it.
Trump, if he were to do this, would be carrying out part of the agenda of the John Birch Society. The JBS have long advocated US withdrawal from it.
I’m pleased the Birch Society once advocated something sensible. In None Dare Call It Conspiracy, Gary Allen did make an effort to sound sane (while advancing a thesis which was cuckoo-for-cocoa-puffs).
