A synod with laity is no synod. Synodality with lay persons is no synodality.
The laity must first approach their Bishop if not their pastor to speak to the path of teaching the doctrines and dogmas of the Catholic Church. To have the laity seated before the Church in a synod of synodatlity, one must ask: Who are these people and why are they here and not me? Of what importance are they to the Church, the Triumphant, the Militant and the Suffering?
Why have not the Bishops assumed their position as teachers and pastors?
The Holy Spirit is God before the Church Triumphant, the Militant and the Suffering.
The Synod of Synodality has forsaken the Holy Spirit in the context of ecumenism, diversity and inclusion DEI.
Real women would defer to their Bishops.
Maybe it is a free night out for some women in the laity. and again,, why not me?
Why have not the Bishops assumed their position as teachers and pastors?
Because they’re too busy checking out the latest lavender fashions and eating in five star Michelin restaurants.
Millstone, meet neck.
Synodality won’t destroy “The” Church, but it will go a long way to ensuring that many parishes and dioceses hit the dust. Who is the Bishop of Hippo these days, if I might ask?
I agree with Damian saying it is “complete bollocks”. When my pastor announced the diocesan “listening sessions” (how I wanted to vomit right then), the only people who were interested were the old liberal boomers – which unfortunately, is the majority of the parish currently. Sooooo…will I even have a parish in 5 years?
“No, synodality is not a Trojan horse that will destroy the Church”
Spoken like a Greek bearing a gift.
I agree it will not destroy the Church, but I believe it will do her as much good as that horse did for Troy.
