Since 1965 we Catholics have been fed the lie that Vatican II is a blazing success, when anyone with eyes could see that it has been a disaster for vocations and doctrinal confusion. If Vatican II was a success, I would be horrified to see a Council that was a flat failure.
Now under Pope Leo we are being fed the lie that Pope Francis was a great Pope. He of course was a kidney stone of a Pope, a confirmed Peronist who created havoc and confusion with almost everything he touched during his misrule. I do enjoy that the drone tribute somehow captured the sinister nature of the man.
Enough, live not by lies is my stance going forward. Basic honesty should be demanded of clerics, however much they love the arts of dissimulation.
We now know what side Pope Leo XIV is on.
Not totally related to the above, but somewhat – my priest this past Sunday was announcing how there would be the Sacrament of anointing of the sick at Mass this coming Saturday evening and went on a short monologue about how Vatican II “changed the Sacrament from the Last Rites to Anointing of the Sick”. I sorta-kinda-maybe get what he was *trying* to say, but I had to fight every urge within me to give a theology lesson from my pew about the nature of Sacraments.
Vatican II is like climate change for these people – use it to justify, rationalize, and shapeshift into whatever it needs to be at the moment.

I look upon Pope Francis as someone who was given a job way above his abilities. In a lot of ways, a very sad pontificate as it engendered division rather than that unity and peace that a Pope should strive for in the Church. He made a mess, and we will be cleaning it up for decades to come. All we can do at this point is pray for the eternal repose of his soul, as always, asking for God’s mercy upon us all.
I do my best not to assume malevolence when mere stupidity will do, but the longer it went on the harder it was. I’m not sure we’ve passed the kidney stone yet.

Pope Leo has been told…to his face …that Traditiones Custodes has to go. Cardinal Burke and the President of Poland have made that abundantly clear. Likely Cardinal Sarah as well. Yet Pope Leo drags his feet about it.
TC was based on lies and personal hatred and this has been proven. It should be considered invalid on its face. The pathetic bishops who have enforced it know this as well.
Bergoglio’s papacy was in part due to McCarrick and McCarrick’s tentacles still reach across the church hierarchy in the US. Tobin, Cupich, McElroy, to name three. Wuerl and Gregory are still around, retired but not put to pasture. Pope Leo knows this too. Seems he would rather play nice and kick the can down the road. Soon the FSSPX will ordain bishops. Let’s see how Pope Leo handles it.
