Working or Not

Something for the weekend.  Eight hours of classical music to work to.  Or not.  I intend to work as little as possible over this Labor Day weekend.

First time you hear a R&B song it’s hard to focus on work. 2nd time is easier, 100th time it’s like an old friend helping you get work done.

I used to use classical to study when I was in school, but then I started to conduct the orchestra, sooo…not much studying got done.

Good idea. Also, the best background music for prayer always will be chant and polyphony. There is an amazingly good assortment of such recordings available online these days, whatever your chosen source. I like Qobuz myself.

The second best sound, next to silence, for giving thought, thanksgiving and honor to God is classical music. I find that while I’m driving, and not praying my rosary at the time, the beautiful melodies and harmonies bring me much peace.

Call me late to the game if you will, which is true, but even though I’m late, I’m appreciative of the chamber music.

The absence of words is refreshing.

Silence is golden, but beautifully played classical music is platinum.
