I sure hope he’s not actually quoting the Pope. If so, we are in trouble.
Yes, and even now the Bishops are also trying to connect ICE to Nazis and the Fugitive Slave Act, wondering who is going to
pick their cottonharvest their crops. Are we in 2025 or 1850?Peace at the cost of Truth is not the peace of Christ.
Politics, religion, and ideology *must* be confronted when they are wrong. Even more so, when they do wrong.
To be fair, the monthly prayer intention of the Pope is set well in advance. No doubt, this year’s intentions, set before the year even began, are from Pope Francis.
This still does not excuse the USCCB from actively accepting a massive amount of money from the morally bankrupt government run by the Democratic Party.
Cupich and his double standards. The bishop has little self awareness – “confrontation for ethnic, political, religious and ideological reasons” is a trait of the left. His words would be heeded if he wasn’t the mouth piece for hypocrites.
I don’t want Catholic Christianity to co-exist. I want Catholic Christianity to rule.

Or perhaps worse, slothful barons eating his crops and giving little thought to His service. I was so pleased that our parish priest had the courage to focus on this today, basically asking “Are you ready, today, for the particular judgement?”
@ The Bruised Optimist –> I concur completely.

Some Church hierarchy act like the Catholic faith is not worth defending and standing up for. No wonder so many people end up leaving the Church with such bad examples of caving into the world.
