Always something down here in Louisiana trying to kill you. Hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, copperheads, cottonmouths, eastern rattle snakes, alligators, West Nile Virus, the Rougarou and Crazy Cajuns driving I10. And the most dangerous, of course, the politicians.

Phillip,
*grins* If you like, you can move north and trade the hurricanes for blizzards. ..They might even be a touch less frequent.

Only trouble I had with the second video was.. I had a little trouble understanding some of the lyrics. He played the piano a bit too loudly. ..Intentionally perhaps?

And Les Acadiens. Mr. LeBlanc is just out of view as they practice together. These are his middle children. There’s an older set and a younger set.

The group The Band did a song about the Acadians titled “Acadian Driftwood.” I’ve read that there are supposed to be some liberties taken with the historical facts.

Tornadoes are part of weather in Ohio and the North, not to mention ice storms.

New England is home, but half my ancestors once settled in what is now Nova Scotia in the 1600’s when it was French “Arcadia”. Have distant cousins (I’m sure) in Cajun country.

“Being Cajun refers to a cultural identity rooted in the history of French-speaking Acadians who were expelled from their homeland in present-day Nova Scotia and migrated to Louisiana. The term “Cajun” is a shortened, Anglicized version of “Acadian”.”

Brutal war the War between the States, always think of this relationship when the Civil War is mentioned.
