One of Our Porter Saints

He was ordained as a simplex priest, his superiors fearing he lacked the intelligence to be a regular priest, and given duties usually allotted to a brother, hence he was made a porter.  Thus an immense number of people experienced his holiness, counsel and the miracles that quickly clustered about him.  I have no doubt that he will eventually join the ranks of the other porter saints, God having a fondness apparently for those who keep the gates.

70,000 filled Ford Field for his beatification Mass a few years ago in Detroit. He is one of my favorites.

The reason for Life.

Life is to live and life is to give and talents to use for good if you choose.
Don’t pray for easy lives.. pray to be stronger.
Don’t pray for tasks that are equal to your talents, but pray for the talent that is equal to the task, then the doing of the work is no miracle, but YOU become the miracle and then you shall receive the richness of Life that has been brought to you by the Grace of God.

[paraphrasing here.]

He is a wonderful man.
Is and always will be, God rest his soul.
Love you Father.

A remarkable story of a remarkable servant of God. A thoroughly unpretentious man, who simply put his gifts at the service of the Lord. The Solanus Casey Center in Detroit is well worth a visit.

How about we compare this? The current archbishop of the Archdiocese and this simple man. One can only pray that the. AOD doesn’t pull a Fulton Sheen on him like the archdiocese of New York did with Bishop Sheen.

Secondary causes LKL?

If it wasn’t for wayward Bishops we wouldn’t gain the merit to help us to holiness by our prayers and sacrifices for them.

That is lemonade.

We have to recall that God in His infinite mercy and justice see everything and awards each accordingly. Some a crown of victory on that last day. Some not.

Amen, “Lead..”

The contrast between Fr. Solanus and the current leadership of Detroit Arch…aaargh.

Well, let us talk of Good Pope Marcellus.
