US Joins War

Hearing rumors that our Air Force is active above Tehran.  Roads out of Tehran are clogged with cars.  My guess is that Trump is going to use bunker busters to destroy the Iranian nuclear weapon development facilities buried beneath Tehran.  The mad mullahs have been sowing the wind for more than four decades, and they are about to reap the whirlwind.  God defend the right.

He posts “Get out of Tehran” (though NOT in all caps 😉 ) and then leaves the G7 early … Something’s up.

I hope someone takes out Iran’s drone factories while they’re in the neighborhood.

I got mixed feelings about this. I was in the Navy when the mad mullahs tooks our people hostage. We all on the sub would have gladly launched to obliterate Tehran. Now almost 5 decades later Trump may make that happen. But I don’t like the idea of more war in the Middle East, and the very real possibility that innocent civilians will now get caught in the cross-fire. Of course Dr. Ed Feser is all in an uproar because this doesn’t meet his ideas of what constitutes a just war. I wonder if an Iranian nuke exploded outside Boston harbor would meet his definition. That said, may God have mercy on us all and (a) protect innocent Iranians from the likely wrath of hell about to be unleashed, and (b) grant safety and victory to our servicemen and women.

I think that should be “sowing the wind.”.

Trump vetoed Israel’s plan to kill the Khomeini. Why oh why?! I hope Trump does not make this about his ego.

Ezabelle:
Unless you can count on the death of a foreign warlord leading to an improved position for your side, it might be best to abstain. Who knows who would succeed him?

Awful to say, but I’m hoping an Iranian group will take out the Ayatollah and his cadre. The people of Iran have suffered too long.

Tom anyone can succeed him, including a monkey from a jungle. He needs to be taken out. Israel wanted to do it strategically.

I asked Grok on Twitter / X if the US had initiated military strikes against Iran. Here is its answer:

No, the United States has not initiated military strikes against Iran based on available information. The Pentagon and U.S. officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, have consistently stated that the U.S. was not involved in recent strikes on Iran, which were carried out unilaterally by Israel starting June 12, 2025. These strikes targeted Iranian nuclear facilities, military sites, and infrastructure. The U.S. has focused on defensive support for Israel, such as assisting with intercepting Iranian missiles and drones, and has repositioned military assets like the USS Nimitz carrier strike group and refueling aircraft in the region to respond to potential escalation. President Trump has indicated that U.S. involvement could occur if Iran attacks American interests, but no offensive U.S. military action against Iran has been reported.

Iranian officials, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, have claimed U.S. support enabled Israel’s attacks, citing intelligence sharing and the movement of U.S. embassy staff as evidence of coordination. However, these claims lack confirmation from U.S. sources, and the U.S. maintains its role is limited to defensive measures and protecting American forces.

Always consider that narratives from both sides may be shaped by strategic interests, and official statements don’t always reveal the full picture. If you want me to dig deeper or check specific sources for updates, let me know!

We have long joined the war in the same sense that we joined WW II when we aided the British before Pearl Harbor. Let us pray they do it right this time.

IIRC the regime change in Libya was a real mess.

Speaking of WWII. WWII started before nuclear weapons and intercontinental missiles and bombers existed. Hitler wanted an America bomber to bomb New York City. The B-36 Peacemaker bomber was the first US intercontinental bomber. Its development started before the US involvement in WWII in case Britain fell to the Axis. The US also had passed the “Two-Ocean Navy Act” on July 19, 1940. One of its backers, Carl Vinson, understood the importance of aircraft carriers and naval aviation. The Navy named the nuclear aircraft carrier the USS Carl Vinson in his honor. He was still alive when they did this. The US wasn’t completely daydreaming before Pearl Harbor.

“They know how to reach me.” Trump being Trump. I don’t think he needs to drag the US into this. He should be supporting Israel on the quiet. This will only enrage Iran.

Take out the Khomeini and his “supremness”. And as Netanyahu once said, and his replacement and his replacements replacement and so forth and so forth.
