If the chancery pencil-pushers who dreamed up this idiotic announcement thought it’d be a great idea, I would truly hate to be on the receiving end of whatever they imagine constitutes “full care of souls”. Honestly, it makes my skin crawl…
So this “Warning Label” will be flashing on the Parish Jumbotron as you kneel down to prepare to offer yourself to God and receive Him worthily?
I’m sure glad that we don’t have jumbotrons.
In complete agreement to Damian Thompson’s comment above;

Our shepherds, including Archbishop Weisenberger, need our prayers. May God open their mind and hearts and make them worthy of their calling. They have a grave duty to care for the faithful and are answerable to almighty God for their actions. May God affirm them when they are righteous and charitable, and correct them when they are not.
It was not long ago that Canon Talarico was spending time in Detroit. I don’t know the reasons, but I suspect it was to bring the ICKSP to the Detroit Archdiocese .
The hostility shown by the bishops of Charlotte and Detroit are nauseating.
It’s high time for abusive fathers like these bishops to be called out – to their face.
The time for pretending the bruises are from falling down the stairs are over.
Allow me to correct myself. The ICKSP is in the Archdiocese of Detroit. I can find out where and post it. Their Bishop does not seem to be very welcoming.
I am more than tired of bishops who crack down on the TLM and look the other way when it comes to abortionist politicians and illegal immigration.

The archbishop appears to have some good regard for the Institute, allowing them to operate in his previous see. And he celebrated the morning Easter Mass at St. Joseph as well.
But that’s the end of the upside. Not only do the faithful have to hear the Surgeon General’s Warning before each TLM, there is also a Delegate making sure that the Archbishop’s diktat is being followed to the letter.
Worse yet is that non- and formerly-Tridentine parishes in Detroit are mandated to pay for free-standing table altars. No more ad orientem NO masses.
This burden naturally falls on older, urban parishes with smaller congregations and tight budgets. One can expect Delegate-like enforcers on these points as well.
Short of personally laughing in the faces of those affected, I do not know of a worse way to introduce yourself to the affected parishioners. The Archbishop has step-children, and he’s not happy with them.
