I hope and pray a future Pope will start a world wide Inquisition that will wipe out the filthy mess of sodomy that previous ones have failed to deal with.
The Sacrament of Penance forgives sins when the penitent performs the temporal punishment due to sin. Capital punishment is temporal and every other punishment is temporal. Eternal punishment, hell, is not temporal.

I agree that it is not plausible to believe that the problems at the top are the work of only one man.
I am not educated, as the author and the visitors to this page are, but IMO what we need is another Pope Benedict. Someone impeccably faithful, pastoral, courageous, and willing to stand up to defend the Church.
I personally would love to see Bishop Barron and clerics of his choosing set loose to clean up and correct the current disorder. I know it is probably out of the question to even think of an American bishop in a seemingly obscure Diocese to do this job. But his relatively young age, stellar pastoral ability, and unquestioning obedience to the teaching of the Church, in addition to his willingness to calmly and reasonably defend the truth of our Faith speaks very well for him.
Just my two cents.
