Rizzo. Italian. Old school Italian. Tough as nails. My kinda lady. Her upbringing is very sad, yet overcame this through Gods grace and as a nun she always had a smile on her face. Mother Angelica was a true gift to the world. I wish I knew more about her when I was younger.
I am watching Mother Angelica right now. Mother Angelica says: “Tell everybody: God loves you”.
Mother Angelica was, for me, very much an acquired taste. That mostly, I think, because the bishops at the time were seeking to be more…congenial. From that perspective, Mother Angelica came across as being more the shock-jock vintage of host. Rather confusing on the whole.
I would not learn til much later about precisely why there was a …difference… between her approach and that of the bishops.
