Well I understand that penances should be challenging, and I understand that it doesn’t spill over into the civil sector, but this could constitute cruel and unusual punishment under the Constitution.
I was thinking the same thing, LKL. Perhaps a procession while self-flagellating with thorn boughs would be more appropriate. 😂

That would be the Eighth Amendment. However, anything undertaken through one’s free will is still freedom.
