PopeWatch: Skull Shot
- Donald R. McClarey
Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.

Even the Reuters caption on their tweet suggests their skepticism as well.
Is he asleep or dead?
Yes odd indeed.
It seems even the simple is difficult for this Vatican. Something’s off.
If they wanted to scam the public, they could have taken his canula out for a short photoshoot, moved the nebulizer out of the shot, and put him back on oxygen upon their departure. They evidently could not manage that, so they provide a rear shot of someone who does not resemble him.

I’m betting Francis is in bed and has masses of tubes and wires running in and out of him.
Like the Biden administration, it would seem the Vatican does not care whether we are convinced or not, because we are in no position to do anything to them.
The Vatican does a good job providing proofs that the Church has Christ’s personal guarantee, despite their efforts!
At this point, all we can do is pray for Pope Francis and the Church, it’s on a very rocky road right now.
I do not know that it is a recent photo. Surprised to see him in a chapel.
And why would he be wearing a purple stole. Does not add up.
Well, “they” did it for Joe Biden, they’re doing it for Pope Francis, and in the 23rd century they’ll do it for Professor John Gill (Star Trek, Patterns of Force).
Cadaver Synod on the way? Nothing would surprise me at this point.

“It is undoubtedly a staged image”, writes Specola (InfoVaticana.com, 17 March).
One of Specola’s readers notes that “Francis is not wearing an alb, what he is wearing is a sheet draped over him to simulate a vestment, one only has to look to see that there are no seams anywhere, the supposed sleeves have no seams at the shoulders and there are no cuffs”.
Furthermore, “it can be seen that the stole tries, with little success, to hide the folds of the sheet at the neck”.
According to the reader, “the sheet can be seen at the back as it falls and gets caught on the back of the chair”.
There wouldn’t be open flames in a room where oxygen is being used or even stored if shut off temporarily.
