We are bound and determined to make science fiction horror a reality, and God will let us reap what we have so richly sown.
Brings to mind what Dr. Malcolm said in Jurassic Park about being so fixation on “could” without ever considering whether they “should”.
“slouching toward Bethlehem…?”
A reference to the Anti-Christ I believe Bob.
They’ve learned absolutely nothing from the last few years.
In my experience, some of the people with the least common sense I’ve ever met just happened to have PhD’s.
StevethePirate,
I believe it was Orwell who said something along the lines of how some ideas are so absurd only intellectuals could believe it.
Josh,
The other Dr. Malcolm quote that comes in very handy nowadays is: “The kind of control you’re attempting is not possible.”
And as LQC implies, the wrath of God is most often simply God withdrawing His protection over us for the consequences of sin.
If the photo of the learned Jiankui He was a movie still from a horror movie…
It would be the frame just before the creature bursts out of the fridge and decapitates him.
Strange how everyone in the audience would have thought, “Stupid arrogant b***** He got what he deserved.” BUT, outside the movie theater, in the real world, we nod sagaciously with his comment as if it were true wisdom.
Thus we ensure that the creature will become an enduring part of our world. A dragon dwelling in the forest outside the “civilized” city. Something we don’t talk about – except when we quietly and regularly send the maiden sacrifices off to satisfy the beast.
There are already many dragons in the forest. We will not worry much about adding one more.
One question, Folks –> is this man for real? This is NOT a parody account on Twitter / X? We actually have scientists doing this mad research right now?

In 2006 – i remember the year because I got a job at a publishing company that year when we entered the Church – I saw an article from one of the finance publications about various research companies courting Asian countries like China. The reason? Eastern cultures don’t have the residual hang-up with ‘sanctity of human life’ the way the West does, and therefore will be more open to jumping head first into things like human cloning and such. I can’t remember which publication it was, but the story always stuck with me. And when I see things like this, it comes back to my mind.
The problem is that making babies has become big bu$ine$$.
Monash University in Melbourne Australia created the first pregnancy achieved through IVF. The soul only lived for a few days. Today Monash IVF markets itself as “pioneers” in IVF. They advertise the service in the same way they advertise an automobile. Their ads prey on desperate couple struggling to fall pregnant. You hear of people taking out loans and going into debt using IVF to have a baby. Not to mention the gruelling psychological toll it takes on women and men, everything an implanted embryo is not successful.
Ofcourse all children are children of God regardless how they are conceived.
I guess no one knows what it is like to struggle with infertility unless they have walked that path.
But children are a blessing. Not a right. We just have really muddied the waters in society when it comes to children. On one hand you have unwanted children aborted and the other hand parents using science to create them in labs.
It’s pretty sad really.
