“A very transparent papacy.”
I hope he’s preparing to meet God.
Dad is just a year older and our experience and those pictures suggest all sorts of things, including possible cognitive changes.
An hour ago it was announced that Francis’ bronchitis has indeed become pneumonia. He’s 88 and he’s had part of one lung removed years ago, so developing pneumonia in his condition is serious indeed.
If this is truly the end of Francis’ reign, he will be giving an account of his life and his pontificate to our Maker. I would pray that he would be judged with all the mercy and forgiveness I would hope for when it’s my turn before our Lord.
I pray this health crisis brings Francis a “come to Jesus” moment and he is moved to recall some red hats while there’s still time.
Seeing the pics of him where he clearly has edema in his face tells me he doesn’t have long, even if he survives this. I do pray that he has a holy death, and for a holy successor.
Praying for him.
Can I ask for prayers for the repose of the soul of my aunt (my dads sister) who passed away yesterday in Beirut. 74 years old but spent 72 years, (in a leg brace then later in a wheelchair) from contracting Polio as a child.
Her two sisters devoted their life looking after her and never married. One of her sisters was her twin. She was the cook in the family and always tried to contribute to the house where she could. She suffered a lot throughout her life and the health problems became more difficult over the past years. She had a great devotion to Jesus and Mary. My dad always helped them financially (all the way from Australia) although 1 was a nurse and the other sisters the head of administration at Hotel Dieu in Beirut her whole working life.
We are sad. Yet we know she is now no longer suffering with her disability.
Thank you and God Bless you all.

Ezabelle, prayer for your late aunt. We are told there are no disabilities in Heaven. Pope looks to be very overweight which is not helping with his pneumonia. Prayer for Pope Francis that he may have a good confession before he departs this earth.
@Ezabelle: What a testimony of love by your family for your disabled aunt. Very humbling for this reader.
