I’d like to take this opportunity (as I usually do when St. Anthony is mentioned in connection with finding lost items) to remind everyone that if St. Anthony answers your prayer and helps you find whatever was lost, you owe him–in charity, if not in justice–alms for the poor. That’s the deal, those are the conditions. It’s often forgotten.
(P.S. I didn’t know Elizabeth Scalia was still around. It’s been years since I used to torment her for her proximum haeresi opinions in the comments section of her blog. My favorite quote of hers–word for word: “I.AM.NOT.WELL!”)
