Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
I left behind the Beltway morass nearly 4 years ago, but much of my social circles that remain there are government bureaucrats. It is highly amusing to watch the fear creep across their social media feeds.
There is some gnashing of teeth over what this is going to do to the local economy. My thought has long been not to put all your eggs in the Fed basket. You know, diversify your portfolio.
No one there ever listens to me though.
Signed, a perpetual member of the private sector…they expect results
Very strange indeed to watch government workers suddenly realize one must be productive, and never ever do anything illegal, immoral or unethical.
And I won’t hear any of this “government servant” BS. They weren’t working free nights and weekends, and I at times have -all the while paying taxes.
David WS-
When I was in federal service, the litmus test was “don’t do anything that gets you on the evening news”
A reminder to stay in the herd. Thus if the herd is moral and/or ethical, so should you be. If the herd is doing something else, either come along, keep quiet or go away.
I could not find anyone who cared what the herd was doing (mostly because management was part of the herd) so I went away.
I am happy that Trump cares what the herd is doing.

Don,
Always one of the most quotable lines! It also graces my profile on Facebook. Along with TANSTAAFL and Mark 8:36
Bruised Optimist, What a suffocating, soul crushing existence. You were wise to give your leave of it.
