Either the theatre owners are too twisted-into-knots to call the police or the police refuse to enforce laws contra trespassing. If it’s the one, they’ve earned the loss of their business. If it’s the other, it’s a notable scandal to which the nationalist opposition needs to call attention. The French system is excessively centralized and the buck likely would not stop with the mayor in this case, but with the interior minister in M. Macron’s cabinet.
Note, that 250 people offered a courtesy (however worthless it may have been) thought themselves entitled to someone else’s property is an indicator that their countries of origin are not sending their best. These people should be beaten with a rattan cane and then deported.

That there summarises immigration (legal and illegal) over the last few decades. Entitled victims who somehow think that moving to western countries is no different to squatting. Oh well too bad. That’s what you get when you have a bleeding heart and no sense.
