Burn of the Day

The old Clint Eastwood saying, A Man’s got to know his limitations comes to mind when I think of Pence.  He is, at best, a tier three politician, and yet this year he briefly ran for President.  But for Trump making him Veep during his first term, Pence is just a spear carrier in the great political scheme of things in this country.

If we deem Pence to be at best a tier three politician, …what criteria would you use for tiers one and two? And who fits those?

Mike Pence, a star player for former Washington Generals (Neocons) against the former Harlem Globe Trotting (D) should be left permanently without a job.
The game of losing to keep your job is over.

I think Pence’s great failure was leading the Covid Task Force. In his book, “A Plague Upon Our House,” he notes Pence’s unwillingness to buck Fauci and Birx. Even when Atlas provided updated research showing the flaws in the response Fauci et al recommended, Pence would not change.

Myanmar could probably benefit from Pence’s milquetoast skill set …

Phillip’s comment on Pence’s chairing of the COVID Task Force is spot on.
Dr. Atlas was treated at the meetings horribly by Drs. Fauci, Birx and Francis. Atlas had the data. In many interviews on a variety of subjects Pence waffled. He’s a weak sister.

Don’t ambassadors normally have to possess a certain amount of charisma. For diplomacy and all…Pence has zero charisma.

In all seriousness, ambassadorships are given to party members who can potentially be a thorn in the side. To get them out of the way and control them. Maybe Pence is not an active nuisance but he could represent a part of the party who could serve to be an pain.

I thought Mike Pence was going to be a decent man. Instead, he’s just a country-club Republican hypocrite. So disappointing.

On second thought, I’ll give Pence one kudo, he and his wife were pro-life.

When Pence first came on the scene as Trump’s VP nominee, I learned that he is a cradle Catholic who abandoned the Church for Protestantism. I worried about how that reflected on his intellect and judgment. Turns out the worries were well placed. He seems to be deficient in both categories. I wouldn’t even make him a Texas Constable, much less anything really important.

I seem to recall an incident during the time he was Governor of Indiana when social conservatives were abandoned in order to please business lobbies (who themselves were refusing to stay in their lane). He’s a multi-directional placator and such people are of quite circumscribed utility. They do not belong in positions of leadership.
