Ms. Harris’s legislative record as a senator was similarly antagonistic toward Catholics. She was an early cosponsor of the “Equality Act,” a bill that would render the Constitution’s protection of religious liberty effectively null and void.
Among many potential consequences, this legislation would demand that Catholic churches host same-sex weddings, require Catholic schools (and all federally funded education institutions) to allow men to compete in women’s sports and share women’s restroom and locker room facilities, and strip faith-based charities of their tax-exempt status.
In 2019, Ms. Harris also introduced the equally misnamed “Do No Harm Act,” which would force Catholic hospitals to perform abortions and even transgender surgeries. If this bill were to become law, Catholic doctors and medical professionals who refuse to perform late-term abortions or subject minors to dangerous, life-altering surgeries could lose their license and face federal discrimination lawsuits.
It gets worse. In 2016, a whistleblower in California provided evidence that Planned Parenthood was illegally trafficking organs and tissue from aborted babies. Ms. Harris, then the Attorney General of California, ordered a raid on the home of the whistleblower to seize the evidence.
And of course she has been part of the most anti-Catholic administration in American history. A Catholic voting for her is a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders.
Thank God for J.D. Vance, especially at this specific time.
I still fear what the enemy’s minions may attempt in the next eleven days, and beyond, but take some solace in the unprecedented numbers of early-voting Republicans and independents. There also is St. Teresa of Calcutta’s reported statement that “the first woman President was aborted.” I realize (and hope) that doesn’t mean there never will be one, but I’m also hoping that God would not prank us so horribly as to allow this objectively evil woman to win (or steal) this election.
Keep praying and make sure everyone on our side votes, as soon as possible.
Pointing out, to a permanent deacon, how bad a Harris administration would be I was told “Both political parties are just as bad”, with emphasis on In vitro fertilization (IVF) presently accepted in republican quarters. There was no getting him to agree on how abortion in the ninth month being demonic murder, nor so to the mutilation of children by “gender affirming care. Intrinsic and horrible evils both.
He was perfectly content with not speaking out on any of this, because it was “political”. What is in the background is -speaking out would earn him the anger of his bishop and loss of friendship with clergy who are also quite content on not speaking out.
What disturbs me is this man had a spine before he became a permanent deacon. His livelihood is not from the Church. His one child is now grown. He has no real reason to not speak out, only that of “hiding under a rock” and loss of human friendship. And this is so so prevalent in the Church today, how they hide… but it’s called Cowardice.
I can agree that there is more subjective guilt the more one realizes that one is killing a human being. So, murdering a newborn is a more obvious sin than a late-term abortion; it is equally grave, and is perhaps done with equal consent of the will, but it is done with a fuller understanding. Gravity, consent of the will, and full knowledge are of course the conditions for a sin to be mortal.
On the other hand, a couple practicing IVF are likely to produce 7 or so embryos at a time (More Human Embryos Destroyed Through IVF Than Abortion Every Year| National Catholic Register). The GRAVITY of killing each of these is the same as the gravity of killing a 3-year-old. It is a mistake to pooh-pooh a sin that literally calls out to heaven for vengeance, particularly when the gravity is multiplied by a few million per year.

The charge for this warrant was fake ID. A pre-dawn swat team for fake ID … Because sometimes investigative journalists need to conceal their profession in the course of an investigation.

What if He does so as part of the chastisement that so many (alleged) visionaries, etc., are predicting? Though that kind of chastisement would fall hardest on the very people who are trying the best to correct the evils we are being punished for (abortion, transgenderism, blasphemy, etc.) That is my biggest fear right now.
@EK –Don’t you think that chastisement is already underway, and has been for years? It’s like a spiritual neutron bomb was detonated years ago. The infrastructure is still standing, but the life is gone.
