Go here to read the story. So Father Dan is leaving the Franciscans and is petitioning the Vatican to be relieved of Holy Orders. PopeWatch applauds this as his true “vocation” is being a full time Leftist judging from his past.
PopeWatch: Father Dan
- Donald R. McClarey
Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
I hope the best for him.
Far worse things have taken place. We don’t have to look to far in the past to recall those tragedies.
Lives destroyed. The Institution itself tarnished.
Church closures. Monies deverted.
From his letter: “retirement from sacramental ministry“
So filled with wishful impermanence. There are hard permanent things in life even for a layman. A marriage vow.. a child is born.. someone dies..
Tried to read the article through, but all I could hear was the music ” I Gotta Be Me” blaring in the background (perhaps foreground)
Echoes of Shakespeare : Methinks the friar doth protest too much…
Who is this person?
Go to the linked post below Art, and you will find out all about him:

Oh….yeah, I remember him now.
Poor soul. Thanks for the link. Maybe he felt the weight of the millstone?
Maybe the spirit, she, will lead him to becoming a spokesperson for Planned Parenthood. (?)
A suggestion from a commenter years ago via one of Don’s old posts.
When you listen to her long enough your convictions make the impossible, possible.
Abortion as a Sacrament for instance.
That suggestion was from a frequent listener of the “she” spirit. The ape of God is alive and well in the Democratic Party.
Referencing the “abortion as a sacrament” comment following soon.

The deacon who was the head of our diaconate program in the diocese, ran the program like a social work internship. Social justice this, social justice that. Everything was social justice. Ecclesiology? Social justice. Sacramental Theology? Social justice. Inequality here, racism there. He turned some good people into mush headed, slogan spouting tools.
When his wife passed, he quickly asked to be laicized. He within a year remarried.
Who wants to be a celibate social worker.
Thanks be to God that this source of scandal will be reduced. Lets see: how long before he “marries” a man?
What would happen if I could just lay down my vocation (matrimony) any time I “felt moved”
Wait. I forgot what century I was texting in 🙄
From Father Dan to Lieutenant Dan, life is like a box of chocolates. Choose Wisely.

The “Parent” title was confusing me at first (like so much of this diabolical, inverted propaganda): it replaced “Father,” because “Father” is “gendered.” Got it.
I have to congratulate “Parent Ryan SJ”: that is quite the line-up of cringe-inducing emojis after his name! He’s practically a self-parody of the “Current Thing” NPC meme.
Oh, and by the way: “Parent Dan” was never a son of St. Francis. Commandeering the name doesn’t alter the person who wears it.
“The ‘Parent’ title was confusing me at first”
Until I read this post I had assumed that “Parent” was the first name of the (apparently satirical) X commenter. It wasn’t until this post referring to “(no longer) Parent Dan Horan” that I realized it was supposed to be a gender neutral version of “Father”.
