I speak figuratively, of course, but think about it, nevertheless.
As I’ve posted here before, the next Catholic Pope needs to begin his service to the Church by cleaning out, from top to bottom, the Aegean stables known as the Roman Curia, along with all their lay hangers-on.

Not too surprisingly, I was unaware of the Augean Stables. One story has it that it took Hercules to divert two rivers to intersect at the Stables thus cleaning it out.
Might I suggest two non-fictional rivers of grace to clean out the filth that has accumulated over the years. The living waters of authentic love for God and obedience to the promptings of the True Holy Spirit. These rivers are fed from the wellspring of Christs Holy wounds and the sorrows of His Holy Mother’s Heart pierced through and through. Her sorrows are magnified by the Disobedience of her Priestly Sons who are concerned not for the flock but only for themselves.
May God bless us with a Holy courageous leader who knows that hercelonian tasks are childs play when God leads the leader.
