This is what you get when the following are the norm:
(1) Government employees cannot be readily fired.
(2) Recruitment and promotion of government employees is not regulated by impersonally administered examinations.
(3) It is common practice for government employees to cut checks to random parties. The whole government grants mess is just legalized embezzlement and should stop.
It’s time for a hanging or twenty.
Cutting checks to the Taliban, a known enemy of the United States, is treason. Full stop. No bull**** excuses. Find the two authorizations on the checks, as two signatures should be required, and get the rope.
I am not engaging in parody or hyperbole.
My sentiments run parallel to those of the bruised optimist. Bastards. Benghazi, one of Hillary’s mess ups, reinforces the idea that whatever the Democrats touch they make worse.
Eh, I wouldn’t get too eager about that rope. If we investigated everything thoroughly, I suspect we’d find more than a few Republicans implicated along with Democrats. We’ve heard rumblings now and then about “misdeeds” in all three branches of governance.
Bring back the great American tradition of Tar and Feathers. It makes no difference whether Democrats or Republicans, it sticks to both equally.
John Flaherty-
I don’t much care whether the person’s involved have a D or an R next to their name.
If we are unwilling to punish our own we are no better than the hypocrites we oppose.
And all hypocrites must needs be opposed for virtue to win out – particularly the hypocrite within ourselves. May we be granted the grace to amend our own personal hypocracies before they swell to the treason commonly called mortal sin (public or private)!

Optimist,
It’s not about being hypocrites about D’s and R’s. It’s about maintaining order. If we “clean house” as suggested, we must replace those we remove. We have no guarantee that “dirty” players will be replaced by “clean” ones.
We can easily end with worse hooligans than the batch we have.
