Under him the Vatican has functioned like a Leftist NGO. Expecting an honest assessment of Trump from this Pope is like expecting chocolate milk from a cow.
Exactly right. Pope Alinsky didn’t even have the common Christian courtesy to mention Trump by name in the official Vatican “expression of concern over the gun violence” or whatever that was. He has his reward. Praying that he doesn’t throw away the eternal reward.
Francis is inconsequential and his viewpoint is derivative. Rather like mainline protestant clergy.
Papa Frank really does come off as a would-be political “player” (left-wing edition), not as “Father of Kings,” as the old ceremonial title states. Bl. Pius IX and even Leo XIII were able to move in the political world and simultaneously act as the Father of the faithful and outsiders alike. I wonder what accounts for the difference?
Pio Nono and Pope Leo were committed Catholics and much brighter, especially Pope Leo, than Pope Francis, who has a mediocre intellect at best.

In AA I was taught that if one of your parents or your spouse is abusive, then you get away from them. You don’t take the abuse out of some misbegotten sense of respect and obedience. That’s how I feel about this current Pontiff. He’s an abusive and cruel man full of vanity and narcissism. He’s like an alcoholic without the drink but not in recovery (a dry drunk), and you should never stay around people like that. They are sick and toxic.
