Considering the way Chicago is being misgoverned these days, I assume the Father of our Country would be glad to part ways with the city government.

It looks like the mayor has rescinded the decision to move the statue. There was a public outcry from one of his own aldermen. Then, the mayor’s office trotted out the usual transparent “explanation”: it was only ever going to be temporary as we renovate and freshen up the space. (Something tells me that moving a solid bronze statue is not casually done, just so the floor can be waxed whatever.)
Nah, you just move something like that out of the way every time you sweep the floors.
The Democratic Party is composed of people who do not admire actual accomplishment or any particular virtue Washington possessed. Johnson, who was employed in one of the country’s most disorderly and ineffective schools systems before being employed by the local of the country’s most malicious union, is a purified example of the type.
