Perfect campaign poste
It’s such a perfect image because it captures the genuine emotion and mood of the moment: the horror, the thrill of seeing him stand up and command his own security detail, and then the pride and affection for him in his defiance to such great evil. Beautiful! (In that way, it is very much like the famous Iwo Jima photograph: beautifully composed–although spontaneously–but capturing so much that had gone before and was to follow.)
Fr. J, I agree with you on every point you’ve made here. The only thing I’d add is the observation that the photo was taken, I believe, by a photographer for the New York Times. If that’s true, the it adds a delicious irony in that an agent of Trump’s avowed enemies handed him such a powerful campaign boost.
