An excellent choice. JD Vance came from nothing , rising from a troubled family situation by sheer hard work and a scintillating intellect. The debate between him and Harris, if there is one, should be the greatest mismatch since Bambi v. Godzilla. At 39 if elected he will be tied with Richard Nixon for the title of the second youngest Vice-President. A Catholic convert, keep an eye on him.

I am more impressed that there is a national candidate with a beard. As a Bearded-American, I’m glad to see there is someone who will represent me!
Obviously well qualified and a good choice for moving up in 2028. Accordingly, we can expect the usually suspects to bring out the long knives and go to work on him. Of course they will be of subordinate character and qualification, much as those of lesser stature tend to kick their betters below the knee. Will be a most interesting campaign season.
Some folks are already dredging up Vance tweets from 2015 and 2016 that were very critical of Trump and allegedly repeated the “second coming of Hitler” canard. Even if that is true, I regard that as a plus, not a minus. It means Vance was able to change his mind when he saw Trump’s policies in action.

This is a brilliant and well-considered decision made by DJT. As an Ohioan, I can attest that JDV, in his short time as Senator, has served us well and thoughtfully. I feel far more confident voting for the Republican ticket with JDV as Vice-President. I do not think JB and KH can overcome DJT and JDV, and I am pleased about that. I am proud to support a Trump/Vance ticket.
I’m congenially disposed to Vance and wish him well. He’s not an optimal candidate for the vice presidency. (The pseudo-elective vice presidency is an office I would like to see eliminated).
