Former President Donald J. Trump was rushed off a stage by Secret Service agents at a rally in Butler, Pa., after several pops that sounded like gunshots.
Mr. Trump went to the ground and was immediately surrounded by agents, who then escorted him to a motorcade. The former president pumped his fist at the crowd as he was hustled off the stage.
When the pops began at 6:13 p.m., Mr. Trump appeared to grab his right ear, which appeared to be bleeding as he left the stage.

Update 1: The Trump campaign says he is fine and is being treated at a local medical facility.

Update 4: The FBI has identified the dead shooter as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.
Update 5: The dead shooter’s car had explosive devices in it. What was he planning to do with those? This all seems rather elaborate for a twenty year old lone wolf assassin.
Wow. Incredible news. My prayers are going out to Trump and the Trump family. Thank goodness Chuck Schumer is a bad shot. Or was it Nancy Pelosi?

We will learn a lot about the character of the Democrats by how they respond and the degree to which they condemn this attack. I have my expectations, but am trying to give them the benefit of the doubt for the moment.
Donald, I seem to remember you predicting this very thing, I think at about the start of the year or thereabouts. I remember thinking that same thing then. With all the vitriol snd hatred against Trump in the media and in the culture I’m surprised it hasn’t happened sooner. Sad and terrifying.

Prayers for Donald Trump and his family. This is shocking. God protect him. God IS CLEARLY protecting him -the Buller missed.
This is an attempt to take the heat off Biden cognitive decline and knowing Trump will become POTUS with ease. Take Trump out. They can’t another way.
It’s just going to generate more support for Trump – the outrage of US citizens are feeling at this attack on their democracy.
It’s just seeing how the left spin it or downplay the situation.
I have been saying for some months that someone will try to take Trump out – much to the disagreement of some of my acquaintances. Apparently Biden said something like – “we have to put Trump in a bullseye” or words to that effect a few days ago. The shooter was a member of Antifa. Time that outfit was declared a terrorist organisation & imprisoned.
That is a freakin’ incredibly close call for him; prayers for the audience members hurt or killed, and the body language on the folks in the videos– maybe not wise, but impressive. lots of folks who know what gun shots are, and how to trace them, and were standing up to try to find the shooter.
Mark my words: more than one reporter will claim that we may never know if this was politically motivated, then avoid talking about the violence against Trump by claiming that Republicans were responsible for Gabby Giffords getting shot.

We live in a sharply divided nation. That a buffoon like Biden can continuously receive more than forty points in many polls is what is most disconcerting, regardless of how many percentage points Trump may receive. The supporters of Biden are also, mainly, leftist in all their social positions. Can one now broach the question of whether or not we might be better served if we had two nations instead of the one without being labeled a “crackpot”. Regardless of the outcome of the election in November approximately one half of this nation will be dissatisfied. Are we really better off being one nation instead of two? If we keep our present arraignment of fifty states, I fear for my grandchildren future growing up in such a nation.

If the US splits into 2 countries, neither country would survive long. We need the military bases in the entire country to provide proper military defense for our contiguous states, noncontiguous states, & territories. If there was a split between the blue & red states, the red states would have the live & let live attitude. The blue states that had separated would immediately declare unofficial war (& official war when convenient) on the country made of red states as Leftist feel their purpose in life is to force their moral & political views on other people. The blue country would not be content until it had full control of the red country. The enemies of the US can only dream that the US would weaken itself by splitting into 2 countries & thereby dilute our strength to defend ourselves.
