Today is the death anniversary of Chiara Corbella Petrillo, the Italian Catholic woman who refused cancer treatment to save the life of her third baby after losing her first two kids. Cancer had severely affected her lungs, tongue and eyes. A year after giving birth, she died at her home dressed in her wedding gown. Sitting before the lord the morning before she died, Her husband leaned over and whispered “ is the cross really sweet like the Lord says?” “yes, Enrico. It is very sweet” Chiara Corbella Petrillo, pray for us.
Whenever I am tempted to pat myself on the back for a good deed, I recall saints like her. She was born into Eternity twelve years ago today.
Beautiful. Chiara pray for us.
Yes pray for us! That we might also trust and go forward with grace.
Having been in diverse waiting rooms lately I am broken hearted at the suffering I see.
Lord Jesus have compassion on these people especially the frightened and lonely ones.
Anzlyne.
You carry that compassion with you when you enter that environment. Your words can help comfort the lonely and give hope to the frightened. You bring Our Lady to them when you offer what you have to give.
