For the moment, Papa Francis speaks out against transgenderism. So why isn’t there a chorus also speaking out of: bishops, priests, and deacons?!

One of the more annoying trends I am seeing in my own circles, even among my more traditional and conservative friends is the rise of Popesplaining.

It’s bad enough to see it from the Where Peter Is crowd, but now there is a misguided effort by the true faithful thinking that protecting everything the Pope says is somehow protection of the Church. Just maddening.

I always feel bad speaking out against this Pope – even if it is absolutely warranted. A child shouldn’t have to constantly correct their parent…should they? It’s been a mess for a while now. Wouldn’t it be amazing if he surprised us and did a complete reversal of the the disaster of his pontificate. In my head I imagine it to go something like this:

Ezabelle….. (good one 😅)

The souls in Purgatory are praying for others.
The souls in our church Triumphant are intercessors for those on the battlefield, you, me, the church militant.
The Pope is nearing the beginning of the end of his chapter, Life on Earth.

What we do with the time remaining before our own chapter ends is truly the most important thing.

Pray then, dear comrades in arms.
Prayers for souls is our battle plan.
There is no time to waist because the enemy advances while we are on leave away from the front.

Pope Francis?

YES… prayers for him today.

Prayers for his eternal soul.
His reversion.
His uniting with the Holy Spirit and obligation to defend the Holy Catholic Church and her teachings. Prayers for his office. That the Catholic Church will one day soon have a pontiff who IS the vicar of Christ. And not bashful to accept that title, nor to proud to admit that he has made errors when he has.

Let this plea from a nobody gain some traction.
If not for his sake, then at least for our own.

I think Pope is probably the worst title the Bishop of Rome can be saddled with. Especially if you have nothing resembling the actual determination to be or instincts of a father and husband.

No father worthy of the name stands by and lets his buddies rape his children without taking action (Rupnik, Maciel). No father worthy of the name stands by wringing his hands, either begging for a meeting with or making excuses for the thug who beats and murders his children (Putin, Xi). The title pope is at best misleading for someone who can’t always act like a real father to his flock even if he has the best will in the world.

And when he has a bad will, a nasty ego problem or happily plays favorites from among his supposed children, or prefers those who aren’t his children, the title is an obscene joke.

I agree with Dale. But to Ezabelle’s point about Superman reversing time to save Lois Lane, God can correct Pope Francis, though it won’t be pleasant. After all, He corrected King Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel chapter 4:

I would be in favor of sending the Pope a copy of Francis the Talking Mule regardless of his repentance status.

Bishop Thomas Gumbleton, who served as auxiliary bishop of Detroit from 1968 until his retirement in 2006, died on April 4 at the age of 94.

We should (probably) pray for the repose of his soul.
