Sadly, the right hasn’t really stood in the left’s way here.
Not the Bee?
Incredible.
Boot camp just took a turn to Larson’s Far Side.
I think you have fallen for a parody. For the Army, the enlistment age still caps out at age 35, and 31 if you are commissioning as an officer.

No way! I thought sure this was an April Fools joke!! Are they also offering free tote bags? 😀
This administration gave us the shameful, grotesque display of incompetence that was our withdrawal from Afghanistan; and then that same “leadership” wants us to give them our children for cannon fodder?
No wonder they are having an impossible time filling barracks.
Drill Sergeant; You pathetic senile sob… it’s YES DRILL SARGENT!… not *what did you say. GOT IT?

It would be for administrative roles Im assuming. They sometimes put key players in football teams who are on the brink of retirement, into the squad as a mentor/driving element for the younger players. And for their experience. Experience and maturity are invaluable. I’ve seen a side transform and lift because of the older players.
Nevertheless this is probably being done because they can’t get people to sign up (and that’s clearly NOT going to fix the lack of enrolments) but I don’t think this is a bad move in its own right.
