I thought considerations for Americans and legal residents came first. It appears that our President does not feel that way which goes a long way to explaining a lot.
Can you imagine if you were Biden’s 5 year old kid and you came to your dad and said a bully beat you up? His response would have been “what did you do to provoke the bully.” Well that’s Biden’s attitude to his own citizens. Shameful.
As recently as, say, 15 or 20 years ago (at least in my experience) it was still possible for many Americans — myself included — to think of illegal aliens as primarily ordinary folk who were simply desperate to escape poverty and disorder in their own countries. At that time, the problems of overwhelmed law enforcement, schools, and other infrastructure were still mostly confined to border communities and some neighborhoods of large cities. The main complaint about them seemed to be that they took jobs away from Americans; the blatantly criminal element among illegals also was not as obvious then, whether because there were fewer of them or because the media was better able to ignore it, or both, I don’t know.
As a result, I suspect there was still some degree of sympathy for illegals back in the 80s, 90s and 2000s among the general public, and not a lot of support for mass deportations. But now that “every town is a border town”, American citizens’ needs are being pushed aside in favor of illegals, and the openly criminal and violent element among illegals is impossible to ignore, it seems to me, that whatever sympathy the general public may have had for illegals is rapidly dwindling. Remember all the discussion about “Dreamers” back in the Obama administration? Haven’t heard much about them lately. I suspect there will be a lot more support for a “just deport them all” policy in the future than there would have been had Biden not gone all in on open borders.
Illegal invaders is the correct term as these individuals ignore our immigration laws, our social laws and our Founding Principles. Illegal Invaders are not welcome. Do not call them immigrants. They are law breakers.
