Turning Jesus chasing the money changers out of the Temple into a whole sale attack on markets, demonstrates yet again how the mind of Francis is dominated by just a few ideas and he returns to them ad infinitum. Like most Peronists, Francis hates and distrusts markets and is always in favor of heavy regulation of the same by Caesar, a part of the Gospels that PopeWatch missed completely.

I wonder where the Pope gets his bread from? Can’t be a market.
I doubt the rest of the speech leans in this direction, but I find what Francis says here worthwhile (yes, I am myself surprised to write this)
He calls the market “negotiable” and “seeking it’s own interests”
This is largely accurate. Commerce should occur between a willing buyer and a willing seller both seeking their own interests.
In contrast, with God, both parties must be willing to enter into an agreement, but the terms are always set by God. There can be no negotiation. We must be purchased at His price, on His terms or not at all.
Yet, as I said, I doubt this was how the speech ultimately developed.

That picture says it all. Let’s all live in our hippie communes whilst Francis preaches from his Papal palace. Cause that’s what Jesus would do.
“Commerce should occur between a willing buyer and a willing seller both seeking their own interests.” The buyer sees that the seller is accomodated for his survival. The seller sees that that buyer is accomodated for his survival There must be love for one another in all contracts or covenants for this is how God works. “Love as I have loved you.”
“Cause that’s what Jesus would do.”
No, Jesus always prayed to His Father in heaven before any action, even to heal and to feed for these are the spiritual and corporal works of mercy.” I and the Father are one.” For God it is all sacrificial love.
Mary you missed my point.
