I thought everyone knew the E. Jean Carroll vs Trump case was bogus, until I heard my mother’s (late 60s Republican) uninformed take on the verdict after watching ABC Nightly News. It’s hard to find on Google, so here’s what you need to know about E. Jean Carroll, most of which was deemed “inadmissible” by the judge: –
She couldn’t recall the date, month, season, or year the incident happened –
She never told anyone about it, despite being publicly obsessed with her own sexuality –
The dress she claims to have been wearing didn’t exist at the time –
Her description of the dressing room at Bergdorf Goodman was inaccurate, making her sequence of events impossible –
Her lawsuit was bankrolled by Jeffrey Epstein pal and Democrat (and Nikki Haley) mega-donor Reid Hoffman –
Democrats created a law (The Adult Survivors Act in 2022) to enable her lawsuit to proceed –
Her accusation is the exact plotline of an episode of Law & Order (one of her “favorite shows”) –
Trump’s Apprentice was also one of her favorite shows –
She has a history of falsely accusing men of r*pe, including Les Moonves –
She told Anderson Cooper, “most people think of r*pe as being sexy. Think of the fantasies.” –
She made a career promoting promiscuity, even writing glowingly of sexual assault and naming her cat Vagina
The case should never have reached a jury either time. Carroll lacked sufficient evidence to meet her burden of proof of beyond a reasonable doubt. The Judge and the Juries were on a vengeance ride against Trump and these trials had as much to do with Justice as the Salem witch trials. In the second trial it didn’t help that Trump was represented by a very pretty, and utterly incompetent, attorney.
$83 M! More votes for The Donald. Verdict should be overturned by the appeal.
One look at her and celibacy becomes realistic.
What a shake-down and political theater rolled into one. Ouch, 80 some million $. Some of that money was awarded to help restore her reputation. I didn’t know a box of condoms was so expensive.
The Adult Survivors Act
… little know factoid.. cough 😷…
Any adult who survives the Biden years is entitled to a free Go Brandon tee shirt/ MAGA hat combo.
As Donald notes, a real judge would have directed a verdict for the defendant at the close of the plaintiff’s case. I hope the incompetent trial lawyer at least knew how to make a record for appeal. Not that I put much stock in the notion of any NY appellate court actually applying the law of evidence where DJT is concerned, but you can’t win if you don’t try.
$83 million well spent.
Anybody who doesn’t listen primarily to fake news sees this as just one more swampy broken part of the system. If some unsupportable claim can land a blow on a man with access to good lawyers, how much more emperiled am I by some unbalanced and unscrupulous accuser?
This wins more genuine support than $83 million of TV ads or bumper stickers.
How was she incompetent? Please give specifics. Are you saying she did not make a proper record for purposes of an appeal? Why did first attorney not represent Trump in the second trial?
She was unable to perform elementary tasks like how to impeach witnesses using a transcript of a deposition, how to properly ask questions that would not draw an objection, etc. I do not know why Trump’s counsel in the first trial did not represent him in the second, but Trump has a history of not paying legal bills.
“Trump was represented by a very pretty, and utterly incompetent, attorney.”
This seems to be quite often the case with Trump.
Unfortunately, LeFevre’s mother–and voters like her–are the entire point of the exercise. They’ll see the headlines, never look any deeper, and turn against Trump on that basis.
The standard the plaintiff had to reach in this case was “by a preponderance of the evidence “, not “beyond a reasonable doubt “. Either way she failed. As long as Trump’s fate is left up to juries in New York and Washington, he will loose. We now have an officially corrupt judicial system. As long as this situation persists, it will not matter who his lawyer is.
