Gotta put New Mexico and probably Arizona over there with the west coast bloc.

There are blue dots not included, but they’re surrounded by red, don’t have access to the oceans, or are demographically and economically weak.
The ideal divorce is that we have a decentralized continental federation with a set of formally sovereign protectorates. (Think of the relationship between the U.S. on the one hand and Panama and Cuba on the other between 1903 and 1935). They each have treaty affiliations with us, they have affiliations with each other, but affiliations with China are out.
Leftists don’t negotiate. They agree to stop their offensive but never agree to abandon it.
In short, they are power gluttons who are always after the whole pie.
The fundamental flaws of socialism and the Left would sort this map out very quickly. What is blue would erect a wall to keep its people in and the red would build a wall to keep the blue out. In the end, the blue would collapse, and the red would invade it as an act of mercy if the blue doesn’t attack first in desperation.
It will still be a civil war.
