If no good deed goes unpunished, then is the opposite true?
No bad deed goes unrewarded?
Every man will get his reward.
Of that I’m certain.
Pray for me, a sinner.
They’re trolling us.
Being an unpleasant and intolerant man with a 13th century worldview, I would have tried him for blasphemy, sentenced, excommunicated, executed, and had his ashes deposited in the City of Rome’s waste treatment plant for the vestments and logo alone but that might be slightly excessive.
Come on. Somebody picked vestments. Nobody’s supporting Rupnik.
Fool me once. It is your fault. Fool me twice. It is my fault.
He was right to thank them for covering for him bc they did/do
Who supports the victims?
Who stands with them?
Where are these signs of solidarity for the abused?
Are they forgotten?
Do they matter?
Would it be too much to ask the Church to have sympathy towards the victims feelings?
Maybe the church feels that the millions they’ve paid out buys them the “right” to wear these vestments?
They don’t care, unfortunately.
I’m sorry to be so upset about this..
Our AG is bloodthirsty right now.
The accusations, warranted or not, hurt the innocent priest as well as Church as a whole.
The true victims are scared.. many, like an acquaintance of mine who has suffered from a wolf, has an absolute hatred for the Church… even though it was a priest and a grave decision by the Bishop of the time the kept the wolf in circulation. The acquaintance said that the worse part was the response from his parents.
Disbelief.
He can not squeeze out one gram of forgiveness for what hell he went through… believe me, I’ve tried to help him get to a stage of forgiveness because I know how it can help him heal.
The parents finally believed after other altar servers came forward. That was a four year process.
I can’t imagine the brokenness of his heart.
So yes.
I’m pissed off about the Rupnik vestments, artwork on hymnals and other reminders of Sin in the big eyes of the sacred. It’s shameful.
Pull the artwork.

Don’t be sorry Philip. Your anger is righteous and unlike them – you care. Indifference is a destructive path that the Bishops have chosen to take.
