This is the strength of the Church. Even with a Judas Pope collaborating with his persecutors, a man like this stands boldly for Christ and His Church. This is real Catholicism in action, and it is this Catholicism that the Gates of Hell will never prevail against.

Each soul has that mark of the divinity, made in His image. Miracles do happen. Maybe we will witness one relating to Francis. My lungs can only hold so much oxygen though.

The bishop denies the right of lay investiture, does not recognize the illicit actions of the state church and informs them quietly that they are in the wrong.
I LOVE to see a bishop whose Catholicism and faith is strong and steadfast.
It would be delicious for a conclave to select such a man and then condemn the PRC for failure to release him. The article I read states the bishop was told to pack clothes for all four seasons. May God comfort and strengthen him in his captivity!
It would be a very different pontificate if Bishop Shao or another persecuted bishop/cardinal were elected pope. St John Paul II as Karol Wojtyla lived under Nazi occupation and Communism.
