I am surprised the US is purple. The USCCB is in the bag for Frankie. We should be navy blue for sure. How does that saying go Don ? . “Heck of a job Conclave 2013. Heck of a job”.

As it is the devil who sows division, one might speculate that Francis and Uncle Screwtape have been at table.

Assuming our next Pope is one who actually cares about the Faith and the state of the Church (and that’s looking like a bit of a long shot, frankly), just imagine the mess he’ll have to clean up after. St. Gregory the Great himself would be challenged.

And if the next conclave gives us a Francis II, we may look at Dr. Carr’s map above as a snapshot of the Good Ol’ Days…

Not surprised about the minimal blue. Look at the African nations which don’t support him. They are literally shedding blood for the Faith on that continent. There are daily reports of massacres of Christians at the hands of Muslims and Pope Francis greatest concern is blessing gays.

There are far too many greys on this map. I pray they that does not mean actual lukewarmness, but just a lack of broadcasting opposition to this mess.
There is a difference.
The priest who was quietly saying Mass during East Coast lockdowns and the one who was openly daring the police to arrest him for saying Mass were both faithful, and I believe, both needed.

(BTW, neither priest is an allegorical figure, may God bless them both!)

Talk about a joke – take out Russia (with fewer than 150,000 Catholics) and at least 75% of the red in the map is wiped out!

John, only because of the Mercator projection which vastly overstates the size of Russia, Canada and northern Europe. In fact Africa is TWICE the size of Russia.

The Bruised Optimist, good points on priests finding ways to have Mass available to their congregations during the lockdown. I hope the bishops have learned their lesson. The attendance numbers are still down because of the bishops not defying governors. Lack of attendance means smaller collections. The Bischops Lenten Appeal is still down because of it in my diocese. Peter Pence too.The message is being sent.to the bishop and to Franncis the capitalist hating pope .

Eastern rites in unity with Rome, such as Ukrainian Rite Catholic, have rejected FS. I can’t imagine any Orthodox rites making comments in support. So much for any steps of reunion.
Africa is lost. PF knew that would happen. There are no African Cardinals in the curias or dycasteries.

Paragraph 25 is vicious and is enough to reject the entire document.

I have a hard time believing that Mexico is lock step with FS.

in a previous opinion, the writer hoped the gray countries were not just lukewarm Catholics, well, except for Greenland, they’re all either Muslim, Buddhist, etc that Africa has a high percentage of Muslims is scary. Not a word from PF on recent attacks there where hundreds of Christians were murdered by their northern Muslim neighbors.

It disgusts me to think that Canada would support Frankie’s agenda. But I’m not surprised. We’re a nation of “get-alongers” we go along to get along, not a nation of “individual thinkers”. Sadly that’s our downfall politically and religiously.

No Monique, the grey areas contain hundreds of millions of Catholics. DR Congo alone has 62 million, along with other leading Catholic countries like Peru, Venezuela and Tanzania. Bishops in some African countries are holding their fire for the moment pending a joint response by all the African bishops, which I assure you will be very strong and unanimous against the idea of blessing homosexual “couples”.
